From the producers of the hit movie 300 comes another masterpiece centered around ancient Greek mythology, Immortals. A 3D fantasy action film, Immortals delves into the realm of the Gods as imminent destruction faces the persecuted people of Greece. Immortals is loosely based on the legendary Greek myths of Theseus, the Minotaur and the Titanomachy.
Small-town Theseus (Henry Cavill) must grow-up quickly when war threatens his home’s very existence. Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) uses ruthless tactics and declares war on the God’s when they refuse to answer his prayers. His goal: to find the legendary Epirus Bow and release the shackled Titans from their captivity. But when he murders Theseus’ mother in a violent fit of rage, Thesus takes it upon himself to enact revenge for his town, his mother and himself.
Theseus’ journey leads him to the famed virgin oracle Phaedra (Freida Pinto) who helps him navigate his way across Greece to King Hyperion. Unbeknownst to Thesus is that his mentor growing up was actually a God, and a rather important one at that; Zeus. When the Epirus is discovered, the God’s must make the tough decision whether to let the humans fight their own battles or risk allowing their ignorance to release the deadly Titans once again.
Directed by Tarsem Singh, Immortals stunning effects do not fall short of expectations. With incredible effects and heart-pounding action, Immortals brings back the ever popular Greek mythology onto the silver screen and delivers with enthusiasm and grit.
