Frankenweenie, a 2012 stop-motion animated film, will be directed by world renowned producer and director Tim Burton, who has immortalized his vision for movies into goers everywhere.  The film is a remake of the 1984 short film by the same name, produced by Burton himself, which starred actual people due to a lack of adequate technology in the 80’s.

The film pays homage to the culture classic movie that spawned a cult like revolution that can still be seen today with the 1931 film Frankenstein.  Little Victor, your average boy, treasures the bond he shares with his loyal companion, Sparky.

But, as the saying goes, all good things must come to end.  When Sparky dies, Victor is heartbroken and must find a way to bring his best friend back no matter the cost.  Using his keen eye for science, he succeeds and brings the canine back from the dead, who starts wreaking havoc in a spooky, ‘Tim Burton’ kind of way.

Directed and produced by Tim Burton, Frankenweenie will be Burton’s first film since Alice in Wonderland (2010) which debuted two years ago.   Burton has been known for casting his eerie spell of his work, making them visually unique and creatively brilliant.  Frankenweenie might just be our modern day Nightmare Before Christmas (1993).
